I'm pretty sure this is to do with the Catalyst drivers, has anyone else experienced this problem?

Sorry for the poor quality, was filmed from my phone. It's quite hard to see from the video, but watch the cursor above the player's head as it 'jitters'. The whole game stutters at what seems like frequent intervals. It is linked to vsync enabled, with it disabled i get screen tearing but no stuttering. It's very obvious when playing and worse than playing with screen tearing as it cuts up the gameplay.

I have played with the vsync and frame skipping settings in all combos, forced vsync through CCC and through D3DOverrider with same effect.

I'm using the NVIDIA 191.07 drivers and Windows 7 and still that same judder effect with PES 2010 too. I suspect it has something to do with the refresh rate showing as 59 Hz rather than 60 Hz because the judder seems to occur once per second (it's very noticeable on the name above the player). The game runs at a constant 60 fps with v-sync forced through the control panel (the Settings v-sync option is greyed out because of this 59 Hz bug) and only the replays and cutscenes play at 30 fps. I also have triple buffering enabled via D3DOverrider.

i play this game too on my 295 and it runs perfect, check your settings guys make sure wait for vsync is ticked, settings is in, prog files / konami folder. that will fix the problem

V-sync is on.

I created a custom resolution for 60 Hz under Windows 7 so the Settings v-sync option is now selectable but the game still stutters despite the framerate never dropping below 60 fps even during replays and cutscenes (seems the 59 Hz bug limited replays/cutscenes to 30 fps but not if you set the resolution to 60 Hz). I have a Core i7, 6 GB RAM and GTX 280 graphics.

Mind you, I am using Kitserver to force fullscreen 16:10 and maxium LOD settings but even so the framerate never falters from 60 fps with v-sync on so the stuttering certainly isn't because the game is pushing my graphics card too far. In fact, EVGA Precision v1.8.1 shows that the game hardly taxes my GPU as the temperatures rarely rise above 68 C even after hours of playing it. I've never had a single crash either in over 30 hours of playing the game.

The stutter is an odd one for sure... it seems to occur every second but it's not so bad that it makes the game unplayable or anything.

I fixed it!

I should have thought to check it sooner but my issue was causing by EVGA Precision itself as it was polling every second. Setting it 5000 ms eliminates the stuttering completely as does disabling it completely.

Silly me!
