Anyone getting it for the PS3 or Xbox360? I can see the forum littered with FIFA 10 threads, so curious.

I'm not sure whether to get it for the PS3 or the PC.

Personally I've got it on the PS3 and so far I'm loving it - god bless lag-free PES on-line games for the first time ever!! :D

From the reviews I've read the PC version isnt so hot though!!

Cheers for that, the game really does look the business this year. FIFA 09 was acceptable, but I can't really see much difference with FIFA 10 underneath the hood. Will give PES2010 a go this year.

The clearly marked localisation in the match lobby is a godsend, if you get on the ENG server and choose a match with an English speaker, you've a super chance of a lag free experience. The only issue I've found is the odd lockup on the match lobby, which seems a little odd, but I assume they'll clear that up with a patch at one point.

I've always been a fan of the PES series - nothing against FIFA, I'm sure it has its own merits, but I just dont feel like I've earned a goal on FIFA like I do on PES! :D

Just my opinion - dont want to start a flame war! :p (actually I'm amazed there hasnt been 50 FIFA-fanboys posting in here saying how awful PES is!!!)

My mate got it for the 360, he also has Fifa as well. There is no denying the PES fun factor, you will cheer, scream and curse. However it just feels so 'clunky' next to Fifa. For example the passing, in Fifa you are passed the ball and you can see/feel your player change weight before he can get the pass off. In PES it seems they have just added a delay for passing to make it more realistic, but thats it, a delay. It doesn't feel or look natural and is generally just irritating. Shooting is still great fun but there just isn't that build up of play and satisfaction of scoring like there is in Fifa. Graphics are fantastic, players are better than Fifa but the animation is just dated.

Hopefully next year, now they have done the 'big' graphics upgrade they will focus on bringing the gameplay up to scratch. One of my mates is a die-hard PES fan and when I commented that nothing changed, this and that were still the same, he just said with a big grin on his face 'EXACTLY'. Some people are just mugs :p

You don't want to start a flame war, yet you address certain gamers as FIFA fanboys. ;)

I live in Hong Kong and more people are getting PES2010 this year due to it's increasingly huge fanbase. Asia simply prefers it's very own Winning Eleven.

Your friend is a fool, as this version is infinitely better than the last :p

The whole flow of the game is much smoother than PES2009 which was so clunky and robotic it was unbearable. Players used to always HAVE to take a touch when you simply didn't want them to, and taking people on with diagnoal turning was far too easy. Now its tricky to take people on and there is a skill to it, and the players can play flowing (all be it rather unrealistic ridiculously accurate) passing moves.

I was up till 2.30am last night playing it. I've not done that since PES6.

i'm really impressed with it so far, you actually have to play football, cant just angle at 45degrees and hit the gas to beat everyone,

passing has become much more important, arranging 2-1s to disposess players and crossing is also improved.

me likey. :D

Me and two friends rented it out the other day. We played 3 games then decided to play fifa. It is just terrible compared to last years pes which was actually good.

I've been thinking of getting it. I'm hoping it's a return to form after the easy-peasy 2008 and diabolical 2009. I'm still playing PES6 :(

FIFA 09 wasn't bad last year, would've been perfect if the AI wasn't so retarded; I found it far too easy to read the oppositions attacks. Even on the harder difficulties, the only difference was that it sped it up a bit.

Is there an option file out yet for the PS3 which includes all the missing official kits and emblems?

PES6 was AWFUL! It was too slow....

All about 08 on the ps2 (as it played a bit like 4) or much more importantly 4 with the epilepsy pitch and the last one with the soton pompy derby

On a vaguely serious note im interested if 10 is any good (after buying 09 for both the ps3 and ps2, for a mates birthday) as the only bit iv really enjoyed about fifa is the irish league football, nothing beats brey wonderers taking on derry city...

Last night a I scored a goal with Drogba that was at least a yard offside, is it a bug, or do the linos now make the odd mistake?
I hope it's on purpose tbh, I don't like the pixel perfect accuracy of the linesmen in footy games!
Having now properly dipped into the normal league campaign, I can safely say the gameplay itself is pretty solid and very enjoyable.
Not touched on the 'Master League' or 'Be a Legend' modes yet, I want to play through a full premiership campaign before I start getting all 'deep' with it.

Just finished first Master League season with Fiorentina last night. Won Serie A and the Italian Cup. Knocked out by Manchester United in quarter finals of Champions League. Been playing it as a 3 player co-op with my housemates and its been great fun.

The ONLY thing that bugs me about the game though, are the referees. Players can slide tackle you in the area, not even touch the ball, and you don't get a penalty. Same for free kicks like that all over the pitch. Yet if you press the player hard and nudge them off the ball, the referee blows for a foul and every time comes over and advises you to calm down!? Its pretty ridiculous really, I think in trying to sort out the fouls on PES2009 they have gone completely overboard.

Anyway Montolivo is a very good Master League player and Vela who we just signed is going to be superb as well. Just got Drenthe in the summer ready for the new season as well as Camacho on loan from Athletico Madrid and some guy called Quinchicou or something like that.

Either way I'm addicted to the game completely. 3am I was up till last night and in work this morning. Bad times :p

My gf is out again tonight, so I'm going to finish the league I'm doing, then start on either Master League or Become a Legend.
In fact, before I do that I'm going to spend 10mins in training practising penalties, they're a lot more 'hands on' now and I'd like to get the hang of them in case I end up in a penalty shoot out situation!
