One word. Amazing. I have got soar thumbs now :( me and my housemates really are not going to get any sleep for the next few days :D Getting the 360 version on Friday so i ll compare the two then.

So, is this the official PES6 PS2 thread?

Where is this game available from? Its out a day early I Hear.

Do ASDA have it in?

Search people, search!

I've been playing Winning Eleven for years now and the latest one I had (WE9) was quite good in respect of the football but there where a couple of really really annoying problems with it.. Offsides where never offsides according to the official rules but even if you where slightly ahead, with no daylight at all between you, you're ruled offside, also Red/yellow cards are never given in a game and the ref was always poor on fouls. Oh yeah and what was up with the AI? You turn it up to level 6 and suddendly even saudi arabia become Brazil... How does PEs 6 compare?

Infact I've given up on WE9 right now and I am playing Fifa 07 as its considerably better at certain things including the crossing...Except if feels like your wrapped in cotton wool all the time.

Not happy :/

Pre ordered from Amazon and I could have bought it in town today from Game :/

Amazon only dispatched it today apparently :(

Well I got my copy of Pro Evolution soccer yesterday and I am moderately pleased with it.

The gameplay has changed significantly I feel and it will take me a little while to get used to it. There are a lot less fouls called now which is a good thing as it keeps the game flowing nicely, but blatent fouls seem to go unpunished some of the time.

The game does play at a faster pace from what I have seen so far but the actual player movement (i.e turning) seems to have slowed down which I am sure seems hard to coprehend when you're reading this. But when your copy arrived I think you'll see what I mean.

The mode I have most enjoyed so far has been the International challenge mode which I have spent many hours at since I got the game yesterday. It's quite addicitive and very hard.

One criticism of the game that I do have is that defenders can almost shoulder barge attackers off the ball and get away with it 90% of the time. Usually with the old game when this happened the attacker would clatter into the defender resulting in a freekick, but in this game the defender nearly always seems to win the ball and no freekick is called whatsoever. My last criticism of the game is that the keepers can be a little clumsy as I've had a few occurrences whereby the keeper has fumbled the ball into his own net after what seems like a relatively easy shot which he should have comfortably saved.

The graphics are nice and the gameplay is fluid. I can't help but feel that there aren't enough fouls awarded now which is in stark contrast to the previous game in the series

I rate the game 8.5/10

Well, I bought the ps2 version and the 360 version today. So far there seems to be quite a difference in the way they play.

At the moment though neither is working in online mode :(

I can't help but disagree with this, I've only got it today from Asda & played 2 games but the ref was handing out yellow cards for fun, I got 2 players sent off in my 1st game!

Depends on what ref you use. Kazuki Ito was the only real fair one imho, he's a little overly harsh, handing out red cards for any bad tackles, but the other ref's lieniency can be fully abused if you know how.

Choosing him stopped me and my friends matches turning into cagey fouling sessions, where we would just foul if someone looked liked scoring and only get a yellow at most. Almost any slide from behind (or badly misstimed from the side) with him is a straight red.

I'm talking we10/pes5 here though, he seems even harsher on pes6 so far.

I'll clarify. Less fouls are given, but those that are given tend to be punished more heavily than the last game. I have had countless players sent off since I got the game :p
