Such a talented actor, a real real loss. He was supurb in so many of his roles, I remember the first time I saw Brassed Off, he stood out a mile even though the rest of the acting in that was supurb.

RIP Pete, one of my fave actors...loved most of his roles...thought he was absolutely brilliant...last movie i saw him in was The Town which starred Ben Affleck...thought he played the shady irish florist with great panache.

brill actor, little anectdote from when I met him.

He starred in Brassed Off, which was made in my then village of Grimethorpe.

Shortly after the film was released we got shed loads of grant money and the whole grubby pit village got a major face lift. PP came back of his own violition to see the good works 'cos he loved the people so much. Genuinely nice bloke and not at all starry, sat in the workings mens club and had a pint.
