Hey all,

I had a little search on the forums and couldn't find a thread on this Author so I thought I would make one.

Peter is a fairly new author who has published two books in the UK now

The Painted Man
The Desert Spear

There is also a short story book which was only published for the US called The Great Bazaar and other stories.

I read the Painted Man quite a while ago, I bought the hardback copy when it first got released. I have to say I was drawn into Bretts world. It started off a bit slow but I really started getting into the story and by the end of it I wanted more !

I got the Desert Spear a couple of weeks ago I was lucky and got a signed copy :D I am slowly getting through it now and once again I am completely hooked. Just loving the world and the lore that he has created.

I have also just ordered a copy of The Great Bazaar from the US which I have to say I am very excited about getting.

Anyways your thoughts if you have read anything by this author.

Yep, I've read both books of the Demon Trilogy. The second one is quite epic! Can't wait for the third, but I suppose I'll have to be patient.

There are so many bad fantasy series around but I'm happy to say that this is not one of them. It's actually very good. :) The only bad thing is it's not yet complete so if you start reading it then you'll have to wait a while for the next book. :(

Aye, the first book really gets into its own about 1/2 way through, the second book is quite a good read though, although in a lot of case it feels the focus has been pulled away from 'the painted man' character, and he also seems to have weakened in some senses, before finally becoming just a little uber again towards the end of the book when he realises he alone can now do something no other human can do because of his years of demon essense absorption.

Going to be a pretty interesting end to the trilogy when it comes round I think, and I'm looking forward to the confrontation between the two 'Deliverers'...it's certainly coming, and despite his anti-hero attitude, the Painted Man, namesake of the first book is most certainly going to be the character most readers will want to win.

As I was stuck in hospital this week I plowed through DS in a day, so the series is fairly fresh in my mind :)

I agree, both really great books. Can't wait for the 3rd now, even though it's going to take a while.

Name of the Wind, as well, is amazing. But again, unfinished series!!

Another good fantasy trilogy that IS finished is Mistborn.

Might have to look into that Mistborn.

I recently bought Nights of Villjamur by Mark Charan Newton. Which from what I have read about the internet sounds like another good fantasy, although incomplete at the moment. He has a second book coming out soon. I got a signed copy :) which I was quite happy about.

Still waiting for my copy of the Great Bazzar to come from the good old USA. I can't wait for it to arrive.

I have nearly finished Desert Spear now, as already mentioned it starts off slow and really becomes epic towards the end. But I really enjoyed the build up and it gave a nice bit of a background info on Jadir and the Krasia tribes.
