Hi there

OK there may be no interest here, but it seems and most agree on that the Michelin SuperSport is pretty much the best tyre money can buy, it offers dry road performance pretty much un-rivalled by any other road tyre and is only eclipsed by semi slicks when weather is dry and warm.

It is also very much suitable for track usage as well, whereas most road tyres can't take track abuse and don't last long.

Of course they offer outstanding wet performance as well on parr or close to many other premium latest tyres on the market.
Surprisingly they are also very strong in cold and wet conditions too, so a superb all year round performance tyre as well.

Another superb feature I have found is that they offer semi slick levels of feedback and inspire great confidence, making them superb for sporty drivers.

One of their biggest benefits is lifespan, they seem to last so long.

So who'd like SuperSports for their car but they are not available? If you are one of those people, please post here with the sizes you require, hopefully this thread will become huge and I shall then email it to Michelin. It may have little effect or it might make them think.

So post here the sizes you need.

I will start:-

Michelin SuperSport required in 265/35/18 please. :)

P.S. All please vote too! :)

I voted yes (as there is no option to vote no) I want them, even though I don't. Hope that helps? My car is not worthy.

Dear Mr. O'Neill,

Thank you for your enquiry about Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tyres.

Unfortunately we have no plans to manufacture the PSS in the sizes you are after, this may change in the future is there becomes a demand.

I dont see why a performance tyre like this which has already had the money spent on R&D costs wouldn't be made available to more popular sizes in order to maximise the revenue for Michelin.

it is their flagship road tyre and unavailable for the majority of sports cars. stupid really.

Post what sizes you need here m8. Lets show them their tyre has plenty of demand in other sizes.
Even more stupid, the size I need is available in the US. :(

The sizes US Tirerack offers:-

So many of those sizes are not available in Europe, makes me sad. :(

It is by far the best tyre on the market currently for sports/super cars.

I'm a huge advocate of them much like Gibbo, having tried almost all of the major ones out there. They offer the perfect blend of dry and wet performance with a slightly softer ride than some of the others. They're also very quiet on the road and have an exceptionally long tread-wear life.

I don't know if these sizes are available in the UK but stock sizes for the F430 are 225/35/19, 285/35/19.

I'm currently running much wider ones on mine at 255/35/19 and 305/35/19.

I really wish more manufacturers would put PSS on as stock, I really *really* despise the Pirelli P Zero in all of its guises, it offers nothing over the PSS except perhaps marginally less roll due to the stiffer sidewalls.

The most recent test is 2012 and in this they came 4th ?

Rated first here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=174

Highest ranked by end-users here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=MP

For my use they rank 1st, I need a tyre designed for sporty driving on both road and track with excellent dry handling and acceptable wet handling. This where they excel plus they last forever.

If I was only driving on the road, then the F1AS2 could be a good choice for me, they offer better wet performance and braking. Unfortunately they don't give the same level of feedback and for track use on heavier cars you can destroy a set with just one track day, making that very good tyre completely useless for my needs. Plus I find Michelins give a level of feedback that other tyres seem not able to match giving me the driver way more confidence to push in all conditions. Whereas many tyres are just vague and not confident inspiring at all.

For heavier, powerful cars and driven on track I don't know of a better road tyre and I've tried most.

Make an n rated set at 225/40/18 and 295/30/18 so I can compare them to pilot sport 2's.

Why N-rated? The Supersport was tested on 911's in it initial design phase, I've ran none N-rated tyres on my 911 now for nearly 2 years, gave me no warranty issue when I had a warranty and they outperformed any other tyre I had on the car which were Pirelli Pzero Rossi, Michelin PS2's and Pirelli Pzero Corsas (though Corsas is better in dry on track).

To be perfectly honest my knowledge of tyres is limited but I've got them on mine and they're fantastic.

Out of interest how do you find them in the current cold and wet conditions? I find them superb, but on a 911 most tyres are pretty damn good in the wet due to weight distrubtion, though the SuperSports are way better than the Pzero Corsa in the wet cold conditions by miles. That's with Supersports at 2mm on the rear compared to the Corsa's with 6mm+
