PH level of loop/mayhems biocide

What is the optimal PH level in a loop?

I'm using Mayhems Ultra Pure H2O and that according to my PH strips is about PH 4. I also squirted some mayhems biocide on another strip and that turned instantly deep red so I'm thinking it has PH <1

I have heard that you should have a PH of around 6 - 8 to prevent problems such as corrosion/algae growth.

By the sounds of it, the PH of my loop is a bit low. How would I go about increasing the PH level?

Just use chemicals (biocide) to kill the organic stuff and don't worry about ph values, its not an aquarium you have there.

PH neutral is 7. I use the exact same fluid as you, and to be honest have never tested pH.

Why would it turn acidic in your system, has the water coloured?

You should have the colour wheel with the ph checker?

Yeah I have the colour wheel that came with the biocide called Mayhems Extreme. The strips are yellow by default and when I dipped it in, it stayed the same colour. According to the chart, that's a PH of about 4.

I've water cooled before and never had problems, but it was just because the Mayhems Extreme came with PH strips that I decided to test it.

Dip one of the strips in tap water, see what colour it goes.
