hi

i fancy swapping my system out in my signature and going for a itx system. i aim to keep my palit super jetstream 2080 ti and psu.

has anyone built in one and if so whats the airflow etc like?

i will go AIO with the one is have , 240 mm, but also might dabble in a WC'd system again, i have some tubing and fittings over from my last attempt.

Assuming you mean the Shift X, the airflow is average, not the worst, not the best. Watercooling will have a big positive impact on the temperatures, it's aimed at that level of customer build to be fair.

yes, shift x, god knows where io got spire from!

i tend not to overclock much these day for my needs, everything at stock works fine. would that be fine in it?

Shift X is supposed to be alright. The regular Shift is the one that had temperature problems.

Massive case for ITX though. I was tempted, but then I got my measuring tape out. It's far too tall for my space :( Itching for a Shift Air now though

i ordered one and will decide when i get it. looked at some videos and seems nice.

@ChugNorris what modular psu would you recommend going with this, i understand 140mm is max unless i go for a SFX?

One of the new Seasonic Focus GX series would be good I would say, although depending on what you are planning to install, an SFX-L PSU would give you more room to play with, We have the Seasonic Focus SGX 450/650W in stock :)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £552.57 (includes shipping: £11.70)

Use a shift X. Its fine for air cooled builds for most the part, recommend you face the fan inwards on GPU rather then out to the glass, you do get that option. Having said that, you also mention dable in watercooling which is route I went down it it really works well in this case.

Do recommend going SFX modular PSU if you can, as you can use the enclosed shroud that way, really helps to clear up the cables, with wider ATX PSU's will not be able to use the shroud, but I suppose it depends how clean you want to keep the look. SFX-L PSUs will also work with the shroud on and plenty of units now around that will work with even the rig in your sig fine.

I use the silverstone SFX-L 700w unit: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/silv...-platinum-modular-power-supply-ca-43e-sv.html which works great for me. Though gather some nice units from corsair and Seasonic around that work would for the system in your sig.

@ChugNorris many thanks.

@Radox-0 cheers. i plan on using the 240mm aio i have at present or i may end up selling my whole rig minus the rtx and m.2's/ssds for the new build and keeping it fresh and new. my go ryzen 7 or 9, though i could get away with a r5 to be honest for what i do with it. i may choose WC at some point. i just fancy a change!

i may well look at SFX to keep it neat! but they seem to cost a lot more.

ok, built it at the weekend with a X570 itx board and a r7 3700x. my AIO pump in the head seems faulty as its now buzzing and clicking but not much headers for fans. do you use a fan controller as may need one of those and swap the aio out.

i purchased a silverstone non modular 500 watt gold but the power switch is in the middle and when screwed down you can't switch the thing on, very annoying, so may swap that out for a modular unit with the power button under the kettle lead input. do the modular psus have longer cables? did you need to buy a 24 pin extension lead, one for the 8 in was supplied by phanteks but not the 24 pin.

I use a corsair Commander pro. I use it for both the lighting and fan control. The unit is slightly on the bigger side though and while hidden well does make back panel bulge slightly, would opt for a smaller fan controller if you do not care about lighting, plenty around that should do the trick.

As for modular PSU's and longer cable length's, some do, though need to check on a per PSU basis I suspect. Personally, I had just put in entire set of custom sleeved silver wire so did not check the cables enclosed with the PSU. You could just pick up a 24 Pin extension cable, should snap on to your current PSU 24 pin cable without any bother.

yes i may well do the 24 extension as it will create a nice open space. my aio is going back to cooler i hope for RMA so using a arctic alpine 64 plus cooler for now which is doing a good job. i haven't overclocked the cpu yet. i have ordered some splitters and im not having RGB at present so will not buy a controller now.

may get another psu though, just for modular cabling, not sure why i didn't in the first place!

i'll take some when i'm happy with it! my current gpu is a HD5450 1GB!!!!

need to sell my 2080ti and buy another brand thats only 2 slot
