Phanteks 400A RGB

So I've just bought this case based of the gamers nexus review where he calls this the best overall case for 2019.

I hope he's right...

My heart wanted another case but it was double the price so couldn't warrant it.

That's the same reason I picked it too because of the best overall case from GN.

Hope you like your has much as I like mine, I think it looks better in person then in pictures and videos, especially with the light set to solid white to match the case I know that's objective but it's what I think.

So you've got white case with RGB set to white as well? Is the rest of your build white themed too?

So I finally got round to a little gaming session today to test things out.

The case does have great airflow. However... the side panel felt a lot more toasty to the touch than my old case.

My old case was a huge full tower but had poor airflow. However this case has better airflow but a much smaller internal volume.

And it's cold in here at the moment.

Just an observation.

Silly question but I'm guessing you've just changed the case right, all components are the same? Also did you manage to fit your Noctua DH14 in there??

What was your previous case you moved away from please?

Thank you for your observations on the case!

My old case was a Thermaltake Case Armor VA8003BWS

It was huge and heavy and had poor airflow.

All the components are the same except I have upgraded form a x370 to a x570 mobo.

The Noctua fit just fine but I removed the front fan. Apparently it only makes 1-2c difference anyway according to the internet.

I like the case. It does have great airflow at least compared to my old case. But As I said above, due to the smaller internal volume of the case I think my GPU is filling it up fast with hot air.

It's a very light case and small but plenty of space for a beefy GPU.

Still it gets great reviews and is meant to be great for high end components. Best overall case of 2019 according to Gamer Nexus hence the purchase. The alternative was H500M but that is double the price.

It's only been running a few days. But do I recommend it? I think so. It's no frills and inexpensive. Air flow is good and it comes with a golden seal of approval from Gamers Nexus.

Wow that case is a mammoth! Thanks for clarifying, it makes sense that the internal volume heats up faster.

I think the P400A looks better than the H500M but that's just my opinion.

How did you find building in it? And cable management wasn't a problem either? That's the one thing I dislike about my current care as cable management was only just becoming a thing. Cases have certainly come on leaps and bounds over the years.

Yea GN carries a lot of weight with me as well, I wish they'd hurry up and review the P300A!! Thanks again.

Built my new PC with this case, and its very nice, i like the design, its simple but elegant. Bit disappointed that i can't hook up the RGB fans lighting though, its a 3 pin header and my mobo is MSI tomohawk with 4 pin.

Glad you like the case and that is a shame about the rgb would have been nice if the tomahawk supported it.

It doesn't bother me to much as I have mine set to white, but you can get a converter search deepcool rgb converter I've not looked into it to much but it looks like it should allow you too connect the rgb to the tomahawk but don't hold me to that lol.

Had my P400a a week now and not sure about it. Which knowing me means it will be changed before too long.

I was using a Phanteks Evolv Shift for a couple of years, which was fine as I had stopped PC gaming years ago. Decided to dip my toe back into it (dangerous) and bought an EVGA GEFORCE GTX 950 Superclocked. Got back into gaming, bought a 1660ti. Great little card this, played everything at 1080p pretty much maxed as wise small and quiet.

Unfortunately, I caught the bug again and before I knew it I had ordered a 1080ti. This is when things got really messy. It didn't fit in the Evolve Shift properly so I had to buy a new case and a new PSU which brings me where I am now.

I've ripped out the fans from P400a as I wasn't keen, I actually got £40 for em on the bay which wasn't too bad, should have just bought the non-rgb one in the first place but hey ho.

Stuck in an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 yesterday. As after trying a few CPU coolers they just didn't keep things to the levels I wanted (temps and noise)

Got 2 corsair fans as intake on the top, and the 360 rad on the front.

Idle temps are great. CPU and GPU both at 30 and my office is pretty warm at the min.

The problem I have with this case is that it seems to heat up a fair bit. After gaming for a few mins, the fans all have to ramp up and it's just too loud for my ears. Currently tweaking the fan curves a bit to get the best out of it. I don't want my GPU or CPU going over 80 if I can avoid it. Be nice to do so without having it sound like a jet engine though!.

Tried loads of configurations, moving fans around, flow direction etc but I'm just not getting the levels am after. Maybe their not possible with a 1080ti?
