Can someone, please help me work out what is the difference between "Pro Glass Midi" and "Pro Full" of Phanteks Enthoo Pro range.
(apart from one having glass side and the other having closed panel)
Otherwise both look identical, but one is described on Overclockers web page as "Midi Tower Case", and the other one as "Full Tower Case"
Despite one being "Full" and the other "Midi" all dimensions of both are listed as identical????
thank you
confused

Looks like the Pro Glass comes with 2 x 140mm fans and the Pro Full comes with 1 x 140mm and 1 x 200mm fans.

Not sure on the naming, as you said, they are the same size.

To be honest, unless you need all the drive bays there are better and cheaper cases.

Thanks,
main reason I am looking at these cases is that they have three external 5.25" bays
There are few decent cases with this option (as far as I know?)

I think the original version (Pro Full) is over 10 years old, so it came well before modern cases. The published config is quite dated and reflects what was in-vogue at the time (like the 200mm top fan).

There weren't tempered glass side panels all over the shop back then and the use of AIO water cooling was not widespread.

The updated version with the glass seems to have a new USB config (with Type-C) and has dropped the 200mm fan, since fitting an AIO is more likely for the roof.

Edit: the 2.5" mounting points were different too.

Thank you,
so essentially they are the same (not midi and full as described on webpage)
with "glass" version being an update of the older "pro full" ??

From what I can see, yeah.

with "glass" version being an update of the older "pro full" ??
If you go to Phanteks website, they don't make this distinction between the two models available, so I wonder if the "Pro Full" also has an updated spec.

That said, OCUK also sell the old version with (what I assume is) an acrylic window instead of glass, so maybe I'm wrong and the old version still exists.

Bottom line is, that (since I wanted midi case not full size) Phanteks Pro is not for me,
despite being described here as "midi"
Thank you all for helping me clear this confusion...

What about Antec VSK4000B?

If you're happy with 2 bays there's CiT Academy and Fractal Focus G. There's also a few M-ATX variants like CiT QC-203 or Fractal 1100.

Also had the original Enthoo Pro with the acrylic window.

It's a big case, but did not realise that is was a full tower case.
Ended up gutting it and doing my one and only full water cooling setup.

If you really need the 3 external bays the only midi option i could find was the Antec suggested by Tetras.

You could get a case with 2 bays and get a USB external drive enclosure for the 3rd.

very good suggestion (and cheap as well )
thank you

edit:
just noticed - Drive Bays:
- 3 x 5.25” External Drive Bays
- 1 x External Floppy Drive Bay
- 5 x 3.5" Internal HDD Bays

Wanting 5.25" external bays makes me a weirdo :D
but even I, do not use floppy disks any more :p:cry:

All joking (about floppy disks) aside,
I will need to check if I can use this 4th bay for some of ICY Dock removable drive enclosures... (SSD?)

You used to be able to get all sorts of stuff to fit that drive bay and still may if you shop around.

Couple of things on OCUK i found, including SSD bay (expensive though).

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £102.97 (includes delivery: £3.99)

@freddie64 yes, I am great fan of ICY Docks gear
I use 5.25" removable drives in my old Corsair case
including one for SSD drives - use it to provide me with "mechanical" (as opposed to software) multi-boot option.
Much more reliable and safe ;)

I still use the original enthoo pro, by modern standards its a full tower and its ****ing heavy. but loads of room. Mines now just used as a tinkering or steam server with 8700k ,32gm ram.

if you think thats big check out the enthoo primo. its enormous, i wish i hadnt sold mine.. although when i came to take the parts out of it i found a family living inside it

Hi Gang

So these are older listings and they needed a bit of an overhaul.

I can confirm, they are both the same case (one with and one without the windowed side panel)

I have updated our listings to reflect the changes.

I have named it a mid tower as it is a size that is inkeeping with other mid towers in our range.

however the naming is off. The Phanteks product page states: "the Enthoo Pro is the budget-friendly mid-tower from Phanteks"

then the specifications say: Form Factor - Full Tower

Raising it to Phanteks to see if they want to do anything about it.

at least our titles are consistent now anyway.

Edit* Phanteks just confirmed it should be down as full tower. so they are changing their listing and I will update ours.

I buy cases for a living and cant tell you the difference between a full tower and a mid tower because every manufacturer seems to class it differently.

I remember looking at these as well as the Fractal Define XL, simply because there is pretty much nothing available with a couple of 5.25 bays and the ability to hold up to six hard drives.

I gave up as all I kept reading about was how much better a modern case would be.

Here I am with an H9 Flow. No opticians drive, and the costs of getting a new optic drive and the case for it far outweighing the cost of a decent case. All I wanted was to build a PC and play games and archive all my old movies to free up cubby space.

With the current cost increase, it's hard to justify any of it, and now with the H9 being so thin and open I'm going to have to be careful with HDD choices due to noise.

indeed...
plus I do not need that many (any?) hdd internal bays, apart from one needed for OS
and... even that one (in my case) is easily removable
None of my PCs have any data stored internally - it is all on NAS
Modern cases are good if you never have to touch them....
I am almost tempted to make my own case:D
