Phanteks NV5, 7 & 9 (+D30 fans)

For a none custom loop its 7 intake (bottom and side) 5 exhaust (back and top). At least that's what it says in the manual. Not ideal for selling packs of 3 lol.

There's major issues with this release. I'm in the trouble shooting process now but confirmed;

Confirmed: Two fans manufactured incorrectly.
Confirmed: One cluster of 2 DOA

TBC; one cluster of 3 DOA
TVC: Case hub issues.

I'd hold on at the moment...

Yeah I'm done for tonight. Here's my poat on Reddit. 5 of the 12 totally dead. Hub status unsure. Both ones with a manufacturing flaw are in the dead pile...

"Right well it's late in the UK but I can confirm 5 of the 12 fans I ordered were totally dead. No movement or argb. All tried with 3 different wires all dead on same port that works with the existing ones. A mix of exhaust and standard. Both ones with manufacturing issue was in the dead pile.

I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the hub as well. It can get addressable colours from motherboard and every port powers but buttons don't change effects, speed etc at all.

Hope Bobby can help here as I've been looking forward to this for months and this is more than just within manufacturing tolerance IMO.

I will update how Phanteks resonds on Monday..if anyone has any issues at all please report them here, so we can see how widespread this is. Worth noting I'm UK based. What a waste of a day.."

Thanks for update. I added some single fans to my order so have bit of a wait anyway, very interested to see what response you get!
100 % hoping putting it in reddit gets a bit more exposure. Someone else has the same fan manufacting errors. No deads posted yet.

I mean what am I meant to fo pack up.the full case and all the fans (and the 30 odd accessories in each box) fml lol.

Think I read that if the hub is connected to mobo header then the led buttons on case don't function.

So your case might be ok at least, if that's by design...

Oh that's good to know. Easy to test. a lot easier swapping out fans than the whole case :)

Update: 2nd April. OK so after investigation I have found that both things (the misalignment of fan corners) and the DOA fans are related. Basically the gold connector isn't connecting correctly because of the misalignment and that is why there is no power or RGB on 5 of my fans (got one working).

The HUB mentioned early looks like disabling the buttons when connected to the motherboard is expected behaviour. It works when disconnected from motherboard.

I've got D30 fans in my Lian Li Evo XL case. What is the best way to connect them all up? Is it literally conversion wire to argb for every cluster? Was kind of hoping for something a bit more eloquent, like a DRGB hub that connects to the motherboard via ARGB?.

Does anyone know how many D120/140 fans I can safely plug into a ARGB Single Sata powered hub? Currently got all 11 powered off this one hub (lighting only, PWM all plugged in direct to the Motherboard), just want to make sure it won't cause an issue (installed in a Lian Li Evo XL).

From reading a single fan can use up to .45 amps for lighting and a Sata connection can handle up to 4.5 amps total, but also the connection the splitter is reading off is also rated for 3 amps so I'm using 4.95amps from a total of 7.5 amps available? (4.5 Sata +3 Motherboard ARGB). It's all seemingly working fine.

Well guys I'm back in the NV cinematic universe. I went for Evo XL with 140mm D30 fans (from the NV7) but got the upgrade itch now the NV9 is out.the built in controller and rear 140 fans seem more a natural fit.

I'm going to get the Argb strip DLC. I see the screen is out now, not sure if it's something I want to get into really. If it's set and forget I'd be a lot more tempted (would want it to monitor FPS and temps in a large font).
