PhD while working full time?

You wouldn't be able to work full time if you got an EPSRC studentship, nor would you be able to study at OU (Not in their DTC network) or at least it was when I worked for them. Although it is the best way to do a PhD I reckon, full time funded with a nice meaty stipend, lovely.

I've often debated doing my DBA part time (not interested in a research doctorate), it's a hell of a commitment.

I know a lot of guys who have done done part time PhD/ Dphil with full time working on top, and if you've got a love of the research then I reckon do it man. BUT be prepared to be doing 60-70 hours a week and say goodbye to your weekends.

Hi the studentship would have been for the EngD which is considered fulltime.

It is funny you mention the DBA, I think that is what I will go for now after researching the past 2 days. Any affordable but good programmes you can recommend?

Bit of a random jump from a technical PhD to wanting to do a DBA?

Why not do an MBA? Will take less time and probably add more to your future earnings than either of those two options.

Not at all, if you read, I was looking at a PhD that looked at the human machine interface and evaluated the business side of it and effect on industry. I actually really wanted to do an EngD but there is no funding in my field.

I looked at MBAs, the really good ones are silly expensive (Open Uni one decently priced and is triple accredited though). I am also completing an MSc in Tech management and do not want to do something else at masters level
