Just wondering if these temps are seen as acceptable, using a http://www.titan-cd.com/product/showProuniversal_en.asp?ProID=500, I can hardly find any reviews on it but my current feelings are that its on par or only slightly better than stock. I've included CPU-Z incase anyone can see if theres anything wrong with it as I feel I am getting too high temperatures for stock speed.

Thanks

55c is getting a bit close to the 62c max temp generally imposed on phenom chips, any higher and the chip will start to throttle back :)

cooler looks to be pretty cheap budget end, i wouldn't advise overclocking without upgrading to something better :)

Yeah, I got the computer built for me as I wasn't confident about buying the parts and I think I skimped too much on the cooler. I tried to reseat the heatsink and applied a non-brand thermal grease that came with the PC but it seems to have done nothing. I used the pea sized amount method for applying the grease.

Could you recommend a decent cooler? I'm not looking for amazingly cool temperatures, but one that has a good price/performance ratio. Preferably around £20~

Just upgraded my stock Phenom 955 cooler to a 212+ Cooler master. Temps were getting a bit high and fan really noisy, but now it sits at 33c idle and it just hit 39c on load on bad company 2 in a very warm room, well impressed. :)

Also, how much higher should CPU temp be than ambient room temp? Hot day today and its around 30-32C, which I think is why my CPU is idling at around 44C~.

your case is 11mm wider than mine, so i would be very surprised if the gelid tranquillo didnt fit. the gelid tranquillo is only 1mm taller than my CPU cooler.

your case also has a 120mm fan at the back, which is a good sign that the tranquillo would fit (a 120mm fan wouldnt physically fit on the back of my PC - it would either be poking out of the side, or clash with the motherboard back panel

It looks like a good alternative for the hyper 212+, I'll look into it. Could you recommend some good thermal paste?

Not just me then :p
