Phenom 9900 review

Looks decent but i wonder how many of these will hit the market, weren't they having trouble scaling past 2.4ghz?

that review is awful, not the results, i cant say anything about those, but the rest of it is just an awful very novice review :s

Not sure what to say here, the review looks a little crap... The Intel processors they tested them with were... Obscure to say the least. I mean a low-clocked Xeon and an extreme edition (edit: should've mentioned: now obsolete extreme edition now that we have the QX6850 and QX9650)? The Q6600 and a dual core processor would've been nice.

I thought it made an interesting read - he doesn't have a deep enough knowledge of the subject matter to do more than present the 'facts' but at least he made a reasonable stab at that. What I found interesting was the fact that the B2 stepping has already (apparently) overcome some of the early teething problems, and that if AMD continue their extremely aggressive pricing policy, the B3 stepping will make a viable alternative to the Intels.

As the reviewer said, most games are now GPU, not CPU limited. If AMD can cash in on their total platform control (CPU/GPU/Chipset) they could start to present us with a real alternative to the Intel solutions - especially if the current Intel/nVidia bickering continues. AMD certainly have the best chance of solving the Multi-GPU problems we've faced over the past few years now that they control all of the platform technology, and THAT might turn out to be the blindside-blow intel weren't expecting ;)

(I certainly hope so - I soooooo want one of those Spider badges for my case-porn collection - don't care how sad it is :D)
