Phenom II 965s

Yeah, hand picked like the TWKRs. Still, i doubt it's just an overclocked 955. There would be no point in selling it. We'll have to wait for reviews and such to know the full story.

I'ts all asumptions at the moment, if the X4 955 can clock to 3.6GHz to 3.8Ghz on Air stable I'm sure the 965 will clock at least 200MHz higher, they would look stupid releasing a CPU that doesnt do any better.

But the overclocking community isnt as big as you think, their is more people that buy full systems etc or buy a cpu to run at stock & at 3.4GHz it will be an attractive purchase to that market.

I did read last week that it was tested and found not to be a great speed increase compared to the 955 when overclocked, even to the point that the 955 beat it! Sadly I forgot where I saw this on the net and can't verify this. Best wait till its out and get some real results.
I doubt AMD would release a poor relation to the 955??

the general public dont give a damn, they'll see a faster cpu and simply buy it, they wont think ``hang around, this is a 955 that's been tweeked up,
why dont i buy a 955 instead and do the same, i might even get it to 3.8``

BECAUSE, a radically different CPU is the Bulldozer/fusion and that is not for another year yet, this 965...is a 955 stop gap, with a few tweeks, if not; there would be more hype from AMD.............with another 3.6 version of the 955 due out at Xmas

i might be wrong...........but do you think i am? ......;););)

We shall see.... we shall see... it's too early to say, but I agree with Nelly.

It would be stupid for AMD to release a new chip that doesn't do better then it's predecessor even after it is overclocked. I sense trickery up AMD's sleeves. Lets just wait for the reviews to come out. All we are doing is feeding the hype.

There are more people who buys for the stock speed and careless about overclocking. Overclocking is for the enthusiasts and hardcore gamers.

Agreed with PakJai

More people buy for stock than to OC.Think how many parents buy for there kids who just want a system to last as long as possible. They would be sold by a nice customer service advisor the benefits of a 200mhz upgrade to futureproof.etc etc

Just have to wait and see some reviews :)
