Phenom II 975 BE stable at 4.4Ghz but problems gaming

Well it was good whilst it lasted, starting having instability issues, back to 4.2Ghz now, FSB 205, CPU/NB 2600 @1.25v (but ends up around 2666 with the FSB increase), i tried 4.3Ghz too but unstable again, i guess 4.2Ghz is this phenoms sweet spot in my rig.

4.2 is a pretty decent OC on those chips, you should be happy with that. you're pushing very hard for an extra 200Mhz. not really worth damaging the CPU for.

Just as an FYI, 1600mhz RAM is not always stable on Deneb chips without a small bump in CPU-NB volts. The corresponding increase in CPU-NB voltage and memory speed also heats the chip and can hurt your overclock, so it is a tradeoff. Temps over 55C on a PII are also in my experience unstable. You tend to hit a thermal limit before you hit the voltage limit with them.

Final stable settings with my hardware

Hello all that have posted since i was last on :)

I definitely cannot get a 24/7 stable overclock of 4.4Ghz with this CPU and would still love to find out how if anyone has.

BUT i am at 4.305Ghz stable 24/7 now, the CPU/NB is at x13 2666Mhz 1.225v and RAM at 1640Mhz 1.585v

I achieved 4.305Ghz by setting FSB to 205 and multiplier x21.5 and voltage 1.488v max

Temps never go over 56c
