Phenom II has DDR3-1333 issue

He was saying the future X2 will have 8MB, which is possible, two disabled cores and full L3 access. :)

I'd say go for a fast clocked AM3 X3 or X4. The more L3 cache the better!

Just depends how eager you are to buy new components.

At this rate the pricing should be fairly competitive with equivalent intel CPUs, especially with a nice overclock from the unlocked multiplier black editions.

I'd say the AM3 version of the Phenom II X3 720 Black edition is the processor to look out for.

It's on sale here at OcUK for £124.19:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-238-AM

It can also be found for just under £120 elsewhere, not that i encourage anyone to betray OcUK and buy elsewhere =p

This processor is already set at a great value price, but with the multiplier alone it is easy to get an overclock from the stock 2.8Ghz up to a respectable 3.5Ghz with only a small voltage increase!

If that's not got you interested i don't know what has... because i'm certainly after one!

Very true... But i can't imagine AMD releasing a Black edition chip purposefully for the purpose of easy overclocking with the unlocked multiplier... and the chip being absolutely useless at OCing.

That would just be ridiculous

BLACK EDITION = OWNAGE
