Phenom x3 slowdown / multitasking issue

don't know whats the root of the cause here as i got a few bits of new hardware at the same time.

Problem= if i start a game installing then click on ie for example it takes 10-20s to show ie homepage, when i click back on the installation dialogue box tab it takes ages to show again i thought it would be instant also software/games seem to take ages to install

the 2 bits hardware i got where a p128 ssd hard drive and the phenom x3 720, should'nt the x3 be able to cope with multi tasking or could it be that the ssd somehow does not like/cannot cope with doing more than one thing at once ?

any pointers would be greatly apprechiated

I'm more inclined to point the finger at your SSD HD.

IO gets flooded on some SSD's.

Yeah. I'd say SSD too.

if I'm installing on my ssd and use firefox off same ssd then things do slow down a bit. Not 20 secs but the write part of my ssd is it's weakest area. Goes from instant to a noticable difference and I'd say my ssd is quite good.
