Currently I have a Core 2 [email protected] gig. Is it worth going the Phenom route? the black edition chip looks good. How much quicker than my current cpu would the Phenom quad be?

I know I'll have to change the motherboard.
 
Ok, thanks for your help mate. I was given an Abit AN52V gratis and thought I try a change.
 
The AN52V will run a Phenom. I don't have any v core options on the P5N-MX so my chip is running stock voltage on a 1 gig (or near as dammit) overclock.
