Hi guys do any of you know of any PhenomII overclocking guids?

I have the spec in sig and have just moved from a 939 system so many of the options are unfamiliar to me. my bios is set to auto on most of these new setting so i don't even know where the starting point is on many values.

things like cpu nb voltage and multipliers a multitude of other volt settings etc

system does 3.6 with ease and can boot at 3.8 but unstable i get the idea i should be adjusting other values along with the vcore and cpu nb vcore which i have heard should be kept in sink,

cheers for ant help TMS :)

just up the vcore alittle. no need to touch the nb voltage.. also u could up the ht and nb multipliers to 10x to make them 2000mhz.

your bios maybe different from mine.

hmmm how high do you think i could go with the ht multi?
well what setting is it on now? it should do 10x = 2ghz easy on stock volts. then just notch the multi up untill it gets unstable.

but remember the nb as to be the same or higher than the ht. well on my board it does..

i seem to have a ht multi and another value for the base ht frequency. so i can set the ht directly to 2,2.2,2.4,2.6 etc or there is the multi option x8 x9 x10 etc not sure if this is the same thing but it seems to be, i am unsure why i have two totally different menus for the same action unless the way they do the changes different somehow. does your dif have both options?

mine as a menu for the ht which the values are 800mhz to 2.6ghz. then another menu for the nb which the values are in multi x5 x6 x7 x8 x9 x10 etc .

hmmm should be the same for mine then as we have the same nb/sb combo. cheers for that i think i have the hang of it now. Cheers for that :D although im still not sure what benifit the extra nb speed provides.

something else im wondering about though is the new oc features of the sb750 "acc" advanced clock controle. now i know these are suposed to be built into the phenom2 now so im guessing i dont have to do anything in bios to enable these?

acc on the motherboard won't do anything because the phenom II as it own acc built in.

basicly it just improves the speed of ur system. u may not see it in real world performance but in in benchmarks u will.

ahhh im getting to old for benchmark numbers i just like my games silky smooth :)

btw what are you running your phenom at?

i have a

HDZ940XCJ4DGI
CACVC AC 0851APMW
9100511L80267

from here and after a bit of a google they seem to be the worst batch amd have made. im having a nightmare just trying to get it stable with 8gb of ram in vista64 let alone an overclock. im starting to wonder if its defective
