Phobias

Hi mate,

Failing the Penski-method (which is worth a try anyway...), my wife had a phobia of flying, we had to cancel our 1st holiday as she was a wreck - waking up shaking and crying in the night. We nearly split over it.

She got advice and saw a hypnotherapist who has helped her to the extent that we lew to the Maldives (11hrs) then straight on to a sea plane AND did th return trip no probs. £35ish/hour and 3 - 4 hrs over 2 years have really helped. They don't stop you being scared about it from *** I understand, jsut help you deal with it and make it less intimidating and less likely to cause panic.

Hope that helps. :)

Besides my daughters main phobia she also had a fear of flying which was nowhere near your ladies phobia.
On the morning of the flight she would go very quiet and then as soon as she saw the 1st airport sign the tears would start.
She'd cry all the way until the plane actually took off but she'd always go through with it.
She would start again when the pilot told us to prepare for landing.
She used the 18 months of her phobia therapy and applied it to her fear and she's never cried since.

Have been speaking to my wife about the session i had today and i feel really positive about it. Hypnotherapy may well be the way forward. Certainly the first positive step i have taken regarding the problem in the last 4 years. The guy estimated 3 sessions should be enough at £60 a pop. If that is true what have i been doing making excuses not to drive for 10 years plus.

Lightning, can't stand it. If someone was firing a gun at random outside near where you were would you go outside?. Thats pretty much how I view lightning...God bullets.
