Phone Cable

Hello

I have a master socket in my hall and i want to run a cable out side up the wall in to a bedroom, i have seen that a lot of cable is 4 core (4 wires?) but some are 6 wires is there a reason? do i need 4 or 6 wires cable?

Any where i can get a reel of it from 50 or 100m maybe thats cheap.

2 pairs is enough (one pair terminals 2&5, the other for 3&4). No harm having extra pairs (like using cat5) other than the diameter of the cable. You can get UV-resistant cables rated for outdoor use, but many get away without. Don't forget a drip loop where it enters the house!
