Hi, I am looking to upgrade my phone. I have some cash from my birthday upto £300 to spend. I currently have a Nexus 4. I was looking at getting the LG G4 payg from Vodafone for £225 but I can't find any stores with stock, they don't seem to be getting new stock any time soon :/ I also missed the opportunity to get the Hauwei P9 which was on offer a week or 2 ago for £300 from Vodafone and 02. I am after an android based phone with band 20 support. Not really interested in getting one shipped in from China/HK. Also ideally a phone with a SD card slot. I would like a decent camera and not too big, though I may get used to a large screen I imagine.
What phones do you guys recommend?
Thanks.

Are there any other phones I should consider looking at? My main uses apart from calls, texts, internet browsing and WhatsApp, is using the phone for sat nav (TomTom), listening to music and watching vids. As well as taking pics every now and then.
Are the likes of the new Moto G4 or Hauwei P9 lite worth looking at?
Thanks again?

I'd buy an s6 off ebay with that sort of money or if you're ebay phobic get the s6 from o2 via amazon for £319.

£400 will probably get you a near new Galaxy S7 on the used market. You may even be lucky to get a new one.

The S7 will have an awesome camera, great build and batterylife and waterproof too. Plus a killer screen. IMO it is really worth the extra and will last you a long while.

Just checked ebay and new s7's are available for around the £400 mark, if you can squeaze the extra £100 out it is defo the phone to buy.

Those S7s seem like they are imports from China/HK... I would have problems with warranty surely.. would have to sent them back to China at the very least??

Chinese phones are missing band 20 support and warranty issues too.

There is a new moto x coming out soon isn't there?

I'm waiting for the Oneplus 3 to come out on the 14th, if its a disappointment i'll grab a redmi note 3 pro i think, had a look at the moto g4 plus but seems a bit meh.

Moto Z allegedly - possibly announced on 8th of this month.

Current X Style is a good phone for the money. I find it a stretch to use one handed but other than that I've no complaints. Camera not good in low light which may be a prob.

if I up my budget to the £400 mark from UK suppliers (so i get the 2 year warranty) I could get the Nexus 6P, LG G5 or Huawei P9.
The Samsung S7 is only available at my price range, imported from China.. doing this I am not sure if the warranty will hold much weight, having to ship back to China if the supplier honours any warranty. Has anyone brought a phone off Ebay from these Chinese/HK sellers?
The alternative is to buy a midrange cheaper phone like the Moto G4.

I went N4 to a G4 and it's so its a massive upgrade. Big bonuses being better battery and being able to change it, awesome camera, lovely screen, loud, buttons on back are brilliant. Fast.

i am tempted by the G4, however it seems to have some reliability issues. If vodafone were still selling it for £225 I would get one.. but they haven't had any stock of it for months.

If you refine your ebay search to buy it now, eu only there are fair few UK spec s7s for less than £425 with UK and ireland based vendors, prob other eu I stopped looking, with many sales and some decent feed back and UK return addresses on some.
