What is the best way to transfer photos from iPhoto, Documents and iTunes Libary from my Mac Pro to my MacBook. MacPro is running Leopard, the latest one right? and the MacBook is running the previous version.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

As long as your photos and music are stored in the iPhoto and iTunes folders then you should be able to just copy them across. For each app files can either be stored in the iPhoto/iTunes folder when you add them to the library or stored outside and just referenced in the library.

If the files are stored outside of those folders then you would have to make sure their locations match exactly on the new Mac so that each app would pick them up again.

Documents can just be copied across.

Hope that makes sense.

...iTunes folder when you add them to the library or stored outside and just referenced in the library.

How do you actually get itunes to suck them into its own "master" file?

When I moved all my music to my new MBP from my PC I just moved the files to the music directory, and itunes picked them up (referenced I believe). How do you get it to put them into the master file and discard the originals? is this the best option?

I recently did the same thing with iphoto/aperture and its a lot cleaner... just hope its as robust

In iTunes preferences go to the Advanced section and under the General tab there is an option to add files to the iTunes music folder when adding to the library. This means when any music is added to the library it is copied to the iTunes folder automatically and then the original can be deleted/moved etc.
