Last night I was playing about with my camera, trying to get a decent picture of a Gundam model I made that has LED eyes. The photos came out with very washed out eyes, so I was playing with the exposure and ambient light in order to try and make them stand out more.

In the end I was using a 30" exposure and taking the photo in the dark but having the light on for the first 3 seconds of the shot, which produced this:

One thing I had noticed was that on the yellow v piece on the left hand side there is a ghost. Any ideas why this occurred? I initially thought the piece may have moved, but there is no ghost on the other side (its a single piece).

Is this a result of the long exposure or is it due to the way I 'lit' the shot?

I appreciate any help, as you may have gathered I don't really understand a lot of this but am trying to figure it out.

Ummm... I don't see the ghosting. Could you do another copy of the picture and circle the effect that you are talking about?

You can see it here:

Its only on that part of the image so it doesn't seem like the piece has moved at all.

The lights in the eyes look doubled too, same with the reflections of the lights on the grey plastic on the left and the red section of the forehead.

Use a flash, then leave it with a 30 second exposure or longer. Flash'll light the plastic and the exposure length should fill in the eyes.
