Photo on CV?

You'd actually be surprised that attaching a personal photo to a CV is quite a common practice throughout Europe (mainly Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and also a few countries in the Asia Pacific

Over here though, it's not required at all unless specified but I think with this new equal opportunities legislation that's came in to play this week a company has no grounds whatsoever for asking for a photo

Don't see why not tbh, the recruitment consultant will usually have a some kind of relationship with the company your CV will be forwarded to, if they think it won't be well received then they will remove it. But some companies are very image conscious and it could help you get an interview, rightly or wrongly....this does assume you don't look like a freak.

Fair enough, I always do and normally get an interview when I send it out. I think it turns the CV into a person rather than a b+w printout.

Apparently I am according to some people, but its only opinion...

I'd say definate no no, when we were recruiting at my last job we had to filter the CV's somehoe and the first was ditch anything not typed nicely, the second was ditch anything with a photo on the assumption that the person wouldn't fit into the team as non of us would do it.

Harsh I know but we were not planning on reading a pile of 300 CV's. My advice would be try and avoid doing anything that could get you ditched before they read the CV and photo's are right up there with fancy fonts and colour schemes.
