so Photobcket has disabled my account for 3rd party hosting!!

they say posting my pictures on a forum is classed as 3rd party hosting for me to enable this they want $399!! not going to happen.. so is there any other alternatives?

I use imgur for all my throwaway/forum image hosting.
Can't stand photobucket - all I ever see when people use them are pages full of ads!

yea Ive just signed up to there. Ive been getting a bit fed up with photobucket for a while the adverts have got worse over the last few years.

Only problem I have now is none of my pictures are working as they have all been hosted using photobucket :(

you don't even need to sign up, I mean if it is just for forum posts then you can just upload an image, post the url and forget about it

Yeah, this. Also, the extension for Firefox/Chrome means you just right-click on on image and it automatically uploads it to Imgur and dumps the URL into your clipboard.

Thanks GD, just switched from Photobucket to Imgur now and moved all my content. Took about an hour of attempts to download my pics from Photobucket as the site kept crashing with all the stupid adverts etc

Yeah, I've also got the extension which lets you highlight and screengrab+upload any part of the screen in one simple action. Very handy.

Thanks for reminding me to delete my account. Only reason I stuck with them is I had a very long build diary that was too much effort to move all the pics. Since that site closed this recent message was the last straw and though a real painful process I'm clearing everything off now.

yea Im going to download all my pictures then delete my account as well.

Imgur is best, no adds, easy to use website, it does have problems but far better than everything else.

An other option you can do is open a shared server hosting account, only $15 per month, unlimited storage, no bandwidth limits, unlimited email accounts and all that, full control of what you host.
