I've been searching the itunes app store for any useful photography apps and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Been looking for one with a depth of field calculator but all the ones i've found are a bit basic. I wish there was one which worked it out backwards too so you input the depth you need and it tells you what distance and aperture you need. Any such app?

There are quite a few utilities out there, including some remote controls for Nikon and Canon EOS Cameras! (some are relatively cheap whilst others are bit more expensive). Have a search and read the descriptions of the below utilities.

Photobuddy @ £1.19 - haven't used it but has all sorts of things built in.
DSLR Camera Remote Professional Edition £11.99 (ouch - the lite version however is £1.19) - remote control thingy.
Photocalc @ £1.79 - again an all in one program and does quite a bit
Simple DoF Calculator @ £1.19 - calculates depth of field
DoFMaster @ £1.19 again does what it says
Field Tools @ Free (nothing to loose with downloading this one!)

I've got Simple DoF Calculator on my Ipod, together with another nice little application called Sunrise, which calculate Twilight start, Sunrise, Solar Noon, Sunset, Twilight end, Moon Phase, Moonrise and Moonset for any given day and your location. Its a nice application if you're out taking Landscape shots.
