Photography Site

Hello hello.

So my friends been ripped off pretty hard by some 'freelance web designer' charged him £140 for a photography website.

Which is just a wordpress blog layout pretty much :rolleyes:

Anyways i was wondering what would be the best free script i could use for showing his photos for each subcatagory of his photography.

When it comes to web design, £140 isn't ripping anyone off, my bro-in-laws company charges up to £800 for 3 pages.

Depends what type of site you friend wants. Links to the current site would be good.

If its a blog system they want you are kind of limited, and wordpress is very easy to use and customisable. Other options are Joomla or PixelPost.

For gallery software, you are looking at things like:

Gallery
Coppermine
Exhibit Engine
simpleviewer - Flash Gallery

Your other option is to write off the existing site and go somewhere like Clickpic, weebly or moonfruit.

I had a massive list of galleries and photo/web apps somewhere, I will try and find it!

£140 for a wordpress theme is a bargain, depending on its quality.

Blimey, 140 is for nothing! most designers would charge that for setting up a theme for someone without any design work. Also look at photocrati, $70 and nice and simple.
