Photography Topic thread...

With it being in Hollywood it does look that way. Digital Rev have been invited to an announcement on the 22nd of this month, that looks to be printer related though...

One 580exii RIP at last night wedding reception....didn't notice at the beginning coz the pre flash was going off but the pictures looked wrong...thought it might be the settings but swapped with my other 580 around and turns out it was a dead flash.

Pre flash but no main flash. Lucky I put my 550ex in the car this time, normally I leave the 550ex at home!

Had you been using it with a TT5?
I'm guessing it's just going a pre flash, and then a full power dump?

I'd put money on the canon announcement being video related rather than a new 5d/1d.

What's there to say that the next 5D type isn't focused on bridging between DSLR photography and videography? My money's on that related product seeing as TV shows and some movie have been filmed with DSLRs...

My feeling is that it's going to be so heavily weighted towards video that it's not going to be a credible alternative to someone primarily interested in stills.

Should be an awesome camera if they don't stick a really strong AA filter on it (good for video) and just improve the AF a little, just making the outside focus points cross-types would be enough for me personally.
ISO will no doubt be great as well, especially once the image files are down sized.

You know that disappointment you get when you see the focus is slightly off by a few mm on what would have otherwise been a cracking shot?

Gah :(

Yes but the average joes will still see the moment rather than the pixel peeping and say, this image didn't capture the moment because the focus is so totally x mm out!

Ok I'll post it and see what you think...2 seconds...

Just use smart sharpen (change it from gaussian to lens blur) and do some masking. That'll be £30. :p

Also, I really need a compact PnS, my iPhone is way too slow for quick grab shots. Had a play in Westfields with the new Pentax Q, thought it was rather cute and cool, shame about the price.
