Photography Topic thread...

Nope, any wedding I book has an assistant - This is an exception as the guy isn't especially loaded and hes paid for my flights + accomodation and then some for shooting his wedding, paying for a 2nd person just wasn't in his budget.

And I haven't been out of the country for 3 years, I wasn't going to say no :p

yes... unfortunately she seems to take better photos than me. Whilst mine are normally technically good, she always seems to spot 'that moment'. I give her the 70-200mm and she snaps away if a second shooter has been requested.

I wish my girlfriend would be my assistant shooter!
But to be honest, she's more of my pack mule if needed / PR / Manager.

My dads mega old flashgun appears to work and give half decent results on my D5100 so I might trial that, otherwise I'll be looking at a second hand flashgun to gain iTTL instead and make my life easier lol.

Just a heads up - be careful putting old flashguns on modern cameras as they *can* damage the camera due to the high trigger voltages used on old flashes.

Google something like 'safe trigger voltage "flash model number" ' and check first !

4 things:

1) I NAILED yesterday's wedding
2) This country and it's coffee is amazing
3) I don't fly home until tomorrow
4) There will be a large thread with lots of photos in it for everyone to see.

After months of inactivity due to being busy, I've ordered a 2nd hand Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 to replace the kit lens for the D90, hoping it will kick start me into going out again to shoot. And I'm going to Cyprus in 4 weeks for a wedding, so should come in handy.

First day off in months where I've actually told myself I'll process the rest of my Edinburgh meet photos! Let#s hope Deus Ex: HR doesn't get in the way...too much.
