Get a 5Dii with a 35/1.4, 50/1.2 (or even 1.4), or 85/1.2.

Any of those can do the photo you want. The separation of subject to background, and along with the fast enough shutter speed to stop rain in its tracks and then its just the processing.
 
The third party one I use is called 'Just Pictures' and it lets you link to all kinds of online picture hosting accounts. It's free, but the downside is that you're screwed if you don't have internet access :(
 
Yeah I've got Just Pictures as well, like you say though it needs to connect via the internet. Flickfolio will download to your phone via wireless when it's charging (default settings). It's pretty good, you can always purchase to try it out and if you don't like it get the refund within 24 hours :)

I doubt it will die, someone will buy the technology from Kodak before they go under or once they are bankrupt.
 
Back home after 3 months in the US, now I have a calibrated monitor I have started processing. Will try and get some Yellowstone photos up in the next weeks.
 
I just hiked nearly 5000feet up a mountain here in Switzerland with a camera and 2 lenses, but no memory card. There is always a first time....

I went out locally a while back and didn't have a card in the camera, that was really annoying so I can't even begin to imagine the rage you must have had! :D
 
That's bad! But mine is more embarrasing! I locked my whole camera kit in my boot with car keys the other week when a few friends and I went shooting in Portsmouth! I had to get a lift to the ferry, call my dad to grab my spare key from home and meet me at the other end, get the ferry back, pay a Taxi to drive me to my car at the other end of Portsmouth then drive home in sadface.jpg.

I spent 2 + hours with my buddies who had camera gear just sitting there without a camera, watching them shoot an amazingly clear sky and sea and surroundings....!

ouch, this is why my card never leaves my camera, not ever, thats really got to burn a lot, 5000 feet i'd be livid lol

I went with a friend to London once for a modelling audition with my Canon S70 at the time, got there and found out i didn't have my cards. :(

What's worse, when i got home, checked my case that the S70 was in, I found a 1G card in there! So I did have a card!
 
I heard someone say that they drove for an hour to a professional shoot and when they were five minutes away they looked into the passenger seat and saw that they'd forgotten their EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and taken their coffee mug instead. Had to drive all the way back :D
 
I think my biggest problem is trying to capture the image right in front of me instead of learning how to take the image exactly how i want it to look :)
 
Why the hell are vicars such miserable people who refuse to accept modern times/technology.

Argh, they make my blood boil.
