photoshop help (patterns)

Hi all,

Thanks to Schizophonic (from ocuk) i now know how to load a pattern & ofc fill the screen

& ive just watched a tut on youtube to change the colour of a pattern BUT

say i load a pattern of tree vines with leafs and the background is gray and the leafs are white by default

How can i change the color of the background and the leafs seprate?

I'm guessing that the gray background is part of the pattern itself and without seeing the pattern it's hard to tell you the best way but you could try, select >> color range.
That will allow you to create a selection of leaves or background depending on which colour you pick.

i was just refuring to any pattern etc not a specific one i have downloaded that i want to use at the moment

i shall try the color range that you specified

*** Edit ive just found out to do what i wanted

Ctrl U / Hue - Saturation on a new layer
& also Ctrl I
