which tft for Photoshop work....?

Hi to you all...

Being new here i'm not sure if this has been covered before.. but having a quick look around i couldn't find anything..

I'm looking for a tft monitor to do photoshop and other graphic design work on.. NO games at all. I have looked about the internet and it seems that i'm after an MVA tft.. would that be right? As TN is aimed really at gamers? I would be hoping to connect through DVI..

Well my budget is pretty tight and is £280 max i guess.. I would really love an apple 30" cinema display but i can dream!

Anyway, please feel free to recommend any tft monitors you think would match what i'm looking for, so far I have come across the Dell 1905FP, any other suggestions are desperatley wanted!! Looking to buy by the weekend..

Hello and welcome!

I use a 20" cinema display for Photoshop work, I understand the Dell 2005 has the same panel (and is cheaper) so perhaps have a look at that? I've found the Apple to be fine after running an Optical Spyder over it and doing a few cromalins to check for colour.

Unfortunatley Both the Apple and the Dell 2005FPW are out of my price range.
Any others you could think of?

look at what the native resolution is. if you cant go over 1280x1024 you are going to be a bit cramped for photoshop, especially if doing print work. look for something over 19"

A little old, but probably one of the best for Photoshop -- the Samsung 910N 19" PVA. Amazing black levels, much much better than anything i've seen lately. The only downside is the response time (rated 25ms). Ghosting, trailing, smearing is omnipresent, but for photo editing i don't think it will be an issue.
