Now I as much as anybody hate being expected to do work for free, so there are no false pretences or expectations here. This IS unpaid, and it IS for a commercially-viable website.

Right, now that that's out the way let me just say that the reason I'm posting this is because there's often threads knocking about here along the lines of "I want to learn/improve my PHP knowledge, but don't have a clue what to code or as part of what".

Basically I'm working on a website at the moment that has lots of little elements to it. I'm no experienced coder anyway so the level or expectation isn't massively high so it might be just a nice opportunity for people to work on small sections of code for fun, with the end result of actually seeing it on a working (and possibly commercial) site and not just on your localhost.

I'm thinking of things along the lines of image uploaders, JS/PHP form validations, shiny Ajax bits, injection security etc - basically everything and anything you could expect to find on a totally automated site with user-generated content and interaction. I also need help with ecommerce but I expect I'll just go down the paid route with that.

So, firstly, please can nobody take this as a "do my logo for free please lol?" thread, because it's not (well it kind of is, but you know what I mean). If you don't want to work for free, then don't. But if you enjoy coding, fancy learning/getting stuck into a 'mini-app' and seeing it as part of a fully-working site etc then email my trust :).

Oh and for everyone else, expect lots of help threads in the next month or so ;).

I think you would be better off following the Codeigniter from scratch tutorials on nettuts. If you can follow that then you will know the basics of validation, creating, updating and deleting records.

Beyond that if you need help with something specific like file uploading you can get help and examples from the Codeigniter forums.
