Is it possible to use an ATI card as a dedicated physics processor.

For example,

3870 XT for main GFX card

X1950 for physics only (no crossfire cable etc.)

I remember seeing something like this last year but not sure if they implemented it?

cheers

Forget it, mate!:) It was something on paper only. I think AMD has already forgotten it or pretend forgetting it. 3870 will never work with a X1950, anyway.

I'm just waiting for people to run a 4870X2 as the main GPU along with an 8800 series for physx and a 3850 or similiar for hardware havok acceleration :P

Cant wait for such a mobo comes out!:P
It would be full of PCIE/AGP slots and fits more than 10 gfx cards. We could put all kinds of cards inside we wanted to dump and ran them as CPU, RAM, and of course, physics card. What a dream!

that be day i move over to a console.

Is it not a paradox that everybody & is brother is trying to emulate a card that failed & is no longer available ? Has this happened before with any other product ?
