Physics Cards--- anyone else experience fps loss?

Small fps loss in GRAW2 with the ppu details enabled, yes. Blowing up stuff looks awesome though. :D

I get a massive boost in ut3, things looks much more detailed too. In games it's not designed for though, i see no fps loss at all. :)

By rights you SHOULD experience an fps drop when using a physx card in games that support it- there are more particles and objects to render in a scene etc. It may take load off of the CPU but the CPU can't do graphical operations.

But the CPU provides graphics data to the GPU. By freeing up the CPU to send more data, your FPS can go up. That’s pretty much what happens in UT3 with a PPU. If you’re CPU limited then the GPU can render the extra particles the PPU sends without slowdown.

There are a lot of factors but the PPU can boost FPS, more so when your in an area with physics but without extra particles. If only some well known website did a fair and decent test/benchmark with the new drivers and new games.
