Physx card

Nope, people regard nVidia's usage of it as such, it does have potential and some of the effects are nice, but because of the extreme lack of PhysX games, people see it as being squandered to be used solely as a checkbox feature to make people feel like they are missing out.

Not really when quite a few people in the metro thread the other day and in past threads blatantly tried to make out it was just a marketing feature and doesn't offer anything in games.

You're different as you see it for what is is but others don't.

Then with all due respect they are closing their eyes.

Every single Physx title ever has had a comparison video and every single one looks miles better with it enabled going all the way back to Mirror's Edge which was stunning with Physx.

I'm not sure on Metro I've never played it much but on Batman and everything else it makes a huge difference.

Well of course. I mean, I can't stand nVidia at all, and would be very reluctant to give them any of my money because I don't support the things that they do, but it doesn't get in the way of me seeing things for how they are, instead of getting bitter and seeing everything they do in a negative light.

Weirdly, my dislike of nVidia somehow is construed as something to do with AMD, like I can't dislike nVidia without it being because I love AMD. Weird.

I'd have a physx card quite low on my list of priorities, but if you are 100% happy with the rest of your equipment, can't think of anything else to spend your money on and enjoy games that are physx enabled then I see no harm in spending a few quid on a used NVidia card from the MM.

It is far from an essential purchase though

well, i did say I had already owned two cards which I could use, so I wouldnt be buying a new card, simply taking it out from storage and slotting it in the new build.

I always wondered about Physx, when i built my last pc i bought the best cards i could find, a couple of 8800ultras, and i was advised to get a physx card, so i bought one of them aswell, then when i installed it and told my drivers to use it for physx instead of the 8800s it actually lowered my fps and didnt look any better, and that was on the actual physx testing software they supplied with it. Money well spent :)
