PhysX. Worth it?

It makes sense for GoW PC to use PhysX. I don’t see any reason why they would swap to something else. But the big question is will it support the PPU?

If I was going to guess, I would expect it to be the same as UT3.

UT3 does support PPU right?

The hardware’s been out ages and there is still no software/game support.

hehe sounds like PPU's as well. been out several years and only 12 pc games support it. 2 of which are a bit funny as you can get the affect's anyway as far as im aware with some tweaking, and about half of the others "none titles" which no-one would buy

one came with my xps 720 free of charge :) , to be honest its not worth the money and it can decrease frame rates as HangTime said Only get one if your new rig is already high end

That’s correct it has support.

Did you not read the links I posted? There are more then 12 full commercial PC games that support it. There are only 12 on Ageias website but that’s not a full list. Its stupid really as there are games in the Ageia Videos & Screen Shots section of the website that are out, but not listed in the game list.

There is a difference between a technology that has been hyped and demoed and nothing has come of it and with the first game to support it, dropping it. And a card that has had some support and quite a bit more to come.

Apart from a few effects here and there and some increase in fps (this is the part I would be interested in) I don't think it's going to do much else. I get one for free soon so I will be trying a few ppu games out to see if they are any good. :D

“ive played the ut3 demo using a physx card and you cant really see the difference“
If you want to see a difference you need to play the PPU only level(s). But that level(s) not in the demo.

UT3 user’s the card to speed up FPS via moving physics away from the CPU. During the demo and full game you wouldn’t see a difference as no new effects are added. Only extra speed.
