I was going to post some pics but can't log on to Imageshack anymore. I have been finding it pretty slow and clunky anyway and last time I did get on I couldn't see a way of getting links to full pics, only thumbnails.

What site is a good alternative? Not looking for huge usage or lots of features just somewhere I can upload pics to link to in forums.

thanks

Imageshack is becoming really flackey isn't it. Its not quite the same, in the fact thats its not just an imagehosting site, but I mainly use my Deviantart page now. I simply upload my shots to it, then copy the image address if I want to post the images in forums etc.

Thanks for the replies. I have signed up to photobucket and it seems better than imageshack. Beansprout, will have a look at your site as well.

photobucket

or if you have your own website space, use somehting like copperhead to hold them and then you can use the (
) to display them

i can host these for you if you want.

if anyone wants an ftp account, send me a pm and i'll reply with the details!

Just get proper hosting. There are a lot out there that are top quality with good support for only about £40 for 2 years. Most providers have scripting so you can you can install most things at a click of a button.

At least using a real provider can guarantee you support and decent speed on there for your images :)

I'd be tempted to agree with this. Since I got proper hosting, I've found it a lot easier to upload images and files quickly. Just open an FTP client, click the account details, press connent, drag and drop the file, and that's it done. :)

I don't have proper gallery software or anything, but there are loads of things out there for that type of application. It's only about £10 a year for 500Mb hosting, so if you were going to want a semi-permenant home for a lot of images, it might be worth considering. Plus, you'd have webspace to use for whatever else you wanted, or to make a personal site on.
