[PIC_THREAD] All Things Macro, Micro

Original

7mm depth shot at 20micons per step worked out to 350 images, stacked to the above: things are getting alittle interesting with stacks now, 32GB of RAM wasn't enough, now running 64GB, which has improved the processing time a lot, as prior around halfway through all the RAM would be eaten up would then stall for a good minute.
Now 250-360 images top out at around 54GB of RAM.

Was originally using SliderONE Plus as I had that anyway but moved to WeMacro rail once i started using mitutoyo 10x.

Love my WeMacro, simple, works & inexpensive compared with some of the models I've seen such as the Cognisys StackShot.

How I wished my man cave was bigger. Going to totally redecorate it some point as it takes me ages to setup, I'm flipping from doing B-rolll for a YouTube channel, social media of small items such as watches to macro to micro. Each time I have to dismantle things, hours wasted and sometimes I don't have the energy after the day job.

Then gaming :)

It's an extremely accurate rail, very solid, with a very simple app on mobile via Bluetooth for what I need: start, end, pause between shots, pause after moving forward(or back) to wait for vibration to stop & travel in mm or microns.

One Euro firm has a rail for for £1700, I mean these are essentially glorified CNC, 3D printer motors so it's abit cheeky.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 - shot of the speaker (?) holes on the side. 364 images stacked for this final shot.

The manufacturing is just impeccable, with only the smallest of artefacts within the inner section when (presumably) drilling out the holes.
Need to book some more time in and see what else it going on with the buttons..
