Been playing games with a crappy HANNS G 1080p TN monitor which i bought from ebay 3 years ago, decided to buy another one, but want to go with an IPS, at least for now, and looking to spend around £200. Would like it to be at least 1440p, and at least 24 inches, but I have seen one that is 4k as well, For the next 2-3 months I would still be playing games at 1080p until the new GPU's come out though.

the ones that i am looking at are:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...zeroframe-monitor-silver-black-mo-100-ac.html

Any advice would be useful, because I don't have a clue.

Would waiting until I replace my GPU be a better option? I get 60fps with a few framerate drops with settings on game nearly all at ultra (obviously with gameworks features off) with the core overclocked to 1130mhz, so im guessing I could turn down some settings, including AA.

Would the 4k monitor be overkill at 24"? Would it make some things too difficult to read? I could go up to £300 for a 27".

I really don't know what to do, but my current monitorlooks so bad with the scratches its has since I bought it its driving me crazy

That AOC uses the same panel as the Dell U25, and as its close to £200 its right for you I reckon.

Or if you do upgrade the GFX card, maybe a Freesync one if you go AMD again would be a beneift for your gaming, AOC doa 24" 144Hz Freesync one.

Don't bother looking at monitors until the new GPUs come through, because the new GPUs should have Displayport 1.3 or superMHL, which no monitor currently has and will allow 3440x1440 and 4K at high refresh rates, but the monitor needs to support it as well.

4k gaming is a step too far for your 7950, though you could run at 1080p. Text on a high-DPI monitor at 4K is awesome. You have to enable scaling, though, as otherwise, it is indeed small.

He's looking at a £200 IPS panel not a £1000 4K 144hz monster - I don't think he needs to be waiting for DP 1.3

Personally I think 24" 4K is pointless - you'll be using scaling anyway. For me 25" 1440p is just right without scaling.

Unfortunately they are out of stock, so it looks like they are not an option. You must have bought all of the ones they had in stock :D

Im sure they will be back in stock soon... also i only paid £250 each for mine from OCUK just ask them to price match them ...

I had 3 of the AOC one you listed above but returned them as the colour match was way out ou them but the Dells are fantastic and a perfect match out of the box, also remember Dell have a pixel guarantee with these monitors.

After looking at reviews, I think I will go with the Dell. Thanks :)
