I'm about to upgrade my nvidia 6800 gt 256mb ram video card. I have a budget of around £150 and am looking for the best card between these three. I'm not a big games player but want the option to play if I buy a game. Which would be the best card out of these three.

1.BFG GeForce 9600 GT OC 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail at £117

2.BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail at £140

3. Asus ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB GDDR4 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail at £146

I was leaning toward the latter, probably tempted by the fact it has 320 stream processors.

Some expert advice/opinion would be appreciated.
Thanks

First elimination would be.....

3870!:D

Although it has 320 SP, they are running at the same speed of the core whilst G92/G94's SP are running at 2.5x of the core speed. So there's no advantage from the ATI cards. On most benchies and games, 3870 is quite far behind 8800GT. 9600GT's performance is on par with 3870 with better SLI support than 8800GT if you would like to buy another one in the near future.

So, my personal choice for a single card solution, it is 8800GT!:)

Edit: Regarding to warranty issues, BFG is much better than Asus.

the 8800gt is a better card but if u wanted to save money the 3870 is a gd card. Depends on resoltuion and if you use AA or not.

I'd say don't buy anything yet. The new NV cards will be out this month, less than a week possibly? Might push down the prices of other cards.
