Pick one game you wish they did an updated version of.

Quake 3 Arena.

Same physics, same level design, same modding ability with new graphics, new server browser and new audio.

SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE THIS!

Na, x-wing vs Tie Fighter wasn't that good, it wasn't until the balance of power expansion pack that came out which introduced an actual campangain that made it a worth while purchase.

The only part i enjoyed was the free roam of trying to take down a corvette on your own.

Dungeon keeper 2 - The true love of my life, one day when they learn how to put people in pc's I will marry it haha. Can be made to work on w7 with special cracked versions. I presume it's not considered piracy as the game is probably shareware now and impossible to play on w7 otherwise.

Gangsters (orginal) - An incredibly deep game. Extreamly hard to master and very satisfying. Sadly it has a terrible ui and poor ai due to it being so old. It has a lot of potential and I still reccomend people try it out. It's shareware now and will take you many hours to work out an efficient system but will be very satisfying. Works on w7 too.

Theme hospital - My god, who doesn't love this game? Still playable on windows 7 also via special cracked versions.

The settlers IV - By far the best in the series. Truly incredibly, deep and very hard online. There was a slight remake of it I believe but not in a true sense with upgraded ai etc.

Empire earth - Lost many years to playing this game on-line competitively and was considered one of the better players at the time in my peak playing at the top level.

Notable that they are all RTS games. The reason for that is because FPS's are constantly revamped and re-skinned. There is little innotivity to them these days.

The only possible remakes of FPS's I would consider would be CSS and BF2 and neither of them really require a remake and said remakes are already in production.

Sim City 4 and Roller-coaster Tycoon but judging how much time I spent playing them first time round it probably a good thing there isn't an update version! :p

I don't quite understand, we already have Half Life 1 in source, which is basically the high definition pack that came with Blue Shift.

The Half Life Source port was pretty poor, in honesty. It looks nicer than the original but Black Mesa Project is step by step recreation of HL1 using the Source level editor meaning it will look identical to HL2.

Then keep an eye on The Black Mesa project. HL1 in Source!

I've had an eye on that for years. Looks great, I'm planning a half-life rally (hl, hl2, Ep1, Ep2) from start to finish when it's out.

replayed Op4 recently and the graphics are just too dated, presumably blue shift is similar.

As I've said in these threads before:

Carmageddon

The driving/crash physics was perfect, the levels were perfect. Even all the multiplayer modes were perfect (although at the time, with it being LAN-only multiplayer, I didn't get to play them much).

Update the resolution, textures, and lighting, and make the multiplayer on-line, and I'll be in gaming heaven, and I'll easily sink thousands more hours into the game.

I was just thinking of this! Awesome game that I wasted many hours playing

Pinball Dreams I, II
Pinball Fantasies
Pinball Illusions

All in one package with full HD quality and sound, maybe even make them look 3D too.

I played PF yesterday and I still love it, the only game I have ever played pretty much for the whole of my PC owning life.

Undying, Silent Hill, Chrono Trigger, System Shock 1&2, Deus Ex, Hexen & Quake 1&2, jeez list goes on and on.. xD

Oh and Exhumed, that had to be one of the best fps games I'd ever played. look it up, was amazing for it's time!
