I've just waded through all those posts and i must say i am surprised at some of the suggestions.
Personally i don't particularly want a popular member as UB i would much prefer an Active UB who is level headed.
There are very few characters on the boards and i would not want one of them stifled by the responsibilty of the UB job.
We also need someone mature enouth to handle the post without upsetting the masses.
The whole emphasis of the forum should be on like minded people furthering there tech knowledge not gossiping about BS. We need a UB who is Genuinely interested in Games, Gaming, Systems, Tweaking and clocking etc not one who is just sat in a bedroom bored.
Whether it be for GD or any other section our UB's and Dons should be System heads or gaming heads. All this lifestyle crap should be way over on the sidelines for times when Tech stuff stagnates.
Haly was without doubt a dedicated Gamer who not only played but cared about gaming she will be Very hard to replace. I would like Haly approached and reinstated please. She has/had a great style in control and was odviously dedicated to the gaming section. A Stealth UB with a lot of respect amonst the community without it leading to over familiarisation.
I would also like Gilly approached and reinstated. I posted a while back that i was worried that there is Knowone that could replace the Gilbot in overall coverage and standard setting. Even if Gilly was made a UB again i am sure this would help raise standards again.
I know you have said you cannot reinstate but Spie you know as well as i do You can do anything you want.
Read through and look at the suggestions and the praise for Dons and UB's passed. I think you will agree that the new suggestions are hardly suitable and the old are Highly respected and regarded.
Apart from Gilly and Haly the only other person i know on these boards to be level headed and mature enouth for such a post would be kell-ee01.
It's consistancy i want not spontaneous characters.
