Picked up something new MK2

These just do absoloutely nothing for me. To spend 65k on one just leaves me scratching my head, then again to be fair I've not drove one. Get some sort of bonkers exotic and use the M6 as your everyday would be my choice.

ok so I got the car today, long story but its got a small problem so BMW have taken it back and put me in another I8.

I'm just so impressed with the car, I'm really shocked as I was not expecting to like the car much but I thought it looked cool and I would give it a go, its such a good car. I am surprised how quick it is in the real world because the numbers make it sound a bit slow.

It does have some drawbacks but I'm happy with the car and would probably like to keep it until I move to a GTS.

The laser lights are simply amazing, I don't know if I would pay 8k for them but they are something else.

Can't wait until next weeks picked up something new mk3

So I finally had time to drive the thing, I just did a 500 mile trip and I still love it. I don't know if they have updated the software since I drove one back in 2014 but it definitely does not feel slow (and thats coming form a m6). Its still not as good as a 911 but for now its a keeper.

I don't think there is any point in keeping the M6 so its up for sale.

So a few weeks on and I'm in love with this car. It's got a few faults buts it's the future. On paper it sounds a bit crap but to own and live with us is fantastic.

If feels so quick and strangely sounds good too.

Only thing is I don't know if I like this much attention. People are taking photos all the time.

There is a guy on PH who changed from a 458 and loves it also.

:D

What sucks is that the M6 now has another owner on its books even though Dr House probably only drove it from the dealer to his house and back :D

lol I was thinking that but I gifted it to my dad which will be a bit of a change from his 535Gt. I did try and sell it but did not have much interest.

I have not even been in the M6 since I got the i8.

I'm not surprised you love it. A friend of mine changed from an M5 to an i8 and he told me he doesn't miss the M5 at all.

He took me out in the i8 a while back and I was hugely impressed. As you say on paper it doesn't look amazing but the way it delivers the performance is, frankly, astonishing. The hybrid power train just allows it to pull and pull and it feels flipping quick!

I see one every month or so driving around, for 65k I can't think of much else that turns heads (in a positive way), so for that reason alone I can see why people would buy one.
