Picking a private doctor / surgeon

Mines been great, the only issue ai had was that he didn’t send off the insurance paperwork quickly enough so I had pay upfront for a steroid injection.

Was all sorted and paid back within the week.

Looks like I’ll need an arthroscopy but so far it’s been breeze. I asked him how long the wait is for NHS and he said “4-6 months” which is horrific. I love the NHS but after waiting 18months+ for my kidney stones operation I can’t be arsed waiting anymore for things so can get done privately.

Something I've noticed over the years, is the amount of medical professionals that don't have people skills at all, is quite scary. The bluntness and attitudes of some doctors I've come across at times when the patient is undergoing immense stress, is absolutely disgusting.

Presumably you have to get a referral letter from a GP before being able to go private via Insurance ?
Depends on the condition and your insurance. Mine for example lets me self refer for any musculoskeletal issues so my knee MRI and physio was all self referred.
