Picking up 2 wired networks

Recently, om startup, my PC is picking up two wired Networks and the result is no connection to the internet. The networks are named 'Network 2' and 'unidentified network'. Both list as local area connections. I only have one LAN port.

If I disable then enable the network adapter, the 'unidentified network' connection is dropped and all works.

I'm running windows . Any ideas as to why this is?

What version of Windows? In Vista and 7 there is an option in the Network and Sharing Center to merge or delete network locations. Which may be what you're after. :)

It's windows 7, didn't mean to leave that bit out..

I've tried that and it doesn't appear to be anything to correct that. The only workaround is to dissable the adapter in control panel and then enable it, which is a bit of a faff.
