Picking up new BB tonight....

Been nearly 2 years since I had a new phone. Picking up a Blackberry 9780 on upgrade tonight.

Whats the best way to condition the battery these days? Is it still a case of allowing it to be fully charged and discharged 2/3 times?

My current phone battery (Palm Pre) is completly screwed and barely gets me through the day. Dont want the BB suffering from the same issues!

Let it fully charge then try not to let it go below 40% charge if possible.

Close the apps properly after using them, (for reference later: Blackberry button -> scroll down to bottom -> Close) rather than just backing out of the apps. This will extend your battery life by at least double.

I may be a fool but turned mine on and used it out of the box as it already had a fair bit of charge then just gave it a full charge that night,

My 9700 holds its charge for a good 2 to 3 days.

I thought these new generation of batterys don't really need to be conditioned like the older ones?

Cheers guys, I honestly didnt know as its been that long since ive had a new device.

Ive got it now. My god ive missed Blackberry. The new UI is fantastic. All the critics who say it needs to be on a touchscreen device need shooting. It works prefectly.

Offloaded the palm pre to some fella in work, glad to be shut of it. Awful phone.

Any app reccomendations?
