You can see why Pimax is rushing out the Dream Air now with feasibly Pico and Meta coming out with something similar themselves in the next 12months with mixed reality and wireless added to the mix.

Yeah, and the dream air looks like a very rushed product. The cheapest variant (lighthouse, no controllers) is £1,850inc VAT

To answer my own question here, Pico are using their own custom SoC afaik which is claimed to be powerful (for standalone).

looking forward to this next gen VR. I know you can get it now with the pimax dream air , but from what I've seen on how Pimax operate I don't really want to be dropping 2k on something they make. It doesn't look that well built either

The big issue with the Samsung Galaxy Android XR is the SOC just isn't powerful enough, hope that's not the case with the Pico.
